Since it's introduction in 1996, Harri Koskien's Block Lamp has been one of the most popular products from Design House Stockholm. The lamp has receive many accolades and numerous awards from the design community, and in 2000 earned a place in ther permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York. The block lamp is made of hand cast glass that is cooled extremely slowly to ensure it will not crack when exposed to extreme temperature changes. The surface of the bulb shaped relief inside the lamp is sand-blasted to produce a soft glow from the small incandescent bulb within.
