Pashley Cycles is England's longest established bicycle manufacturer, and has carried on the tradition of the classic English roaster bicycle since they opened their doors in 1926.   Beyond the roadster bikes, Pashley also designs and builds more contemporary city bike styles and some seriously stylish cruisers.

Based in Stratford-upon-Avon, Pashley's dedicated teams of designers and craftspeople hand build the bikes combining the knowledge that comes from more than 80 years of experience in bicycle building with the use of modern materials, components and technology.

The Pashley's are definitely pretty bikes, but they are serious transportation meant for hauling stuff around and getting to where you need to be, whether it's the office or the park for a picnic.

This small company founded by a group of surfers in Cornwall, UK (and still only four staff members) continues to set the bar higher for corporate social and environmental responsibility in the garment industry. Danish furniture designed is renowned for it's careful merging of form and function, and no less attention is paid to furnishings for the little ones.  The HandySitt booster seat is an excellent example of this design philosophy.  The seat is designed to attach securely to a dining chair allowing a child to sit comfortably with the rest of the family at meal time.  The simple adjustable mounting system allows for quick mounting of the seat, and the foldable design makes the HandySitt practical to take along when traveling.

All the Atelier Orange pieces are crafted in the ceramic studio located in St-André-Avelin is South-West Québec between Montréal and Ottawa. Koen de Winter established the studio to produce his designs and encourage the pursuit of the craft. 

The atelier employs local people, and also provides a training ground for aspiring designers and craftspeople looking to gain experience in ceramics and stoneware production.  This educational component is key to Koen de Winter's objectives for Atelier Orange. 

The pieces are exceptionally well priced proving that it is possible to produce quality goods in Canada for a reasonable cost, another one of Koen de Winter's themes. The workshop itself is a model for small scale, sustainable production promoting the ideal of local production for local consumption. The range includes both single varietals and also the De Vienne's custom spice blends with names like "BBQ Classique", "Épices pour Gimbier" (Spices for Game), "Traditionnels du Québec Volaille" (Traditional Québec Poultry spice blend) and "Épices à Poisson Turquie" (Turkish Fish Spice).

The De Vienne's also publish recipes that feature the spices and the recipe cards are available at the shop.

For Spring 2008, Stelton has introduced the ingenious "Take Away Tray".  The egonomically designed handle is perfectly balanced allowing the tray to be easily carried from the kitchen out to the pool deck.  When the tray is placed down the handle stows neatly into the edge of the tray.  The non-slip rubber surface of the tray helps to prevent objects from moving around in transit, and it can be simply removed for cleaning.

In recognition of their efforts Finisterre has been awarded the Volvo European Sport award for Eco Design. The award will be presented to Finisterre at the ISPO trade show in Munich later in January.
